Due to a reform in French higher education system, implemented in 2019, international students who are not citizen of a country inside European economic area or Switzerland who register for the first time in a French higher education course will have to pay specific fees (equivalent to one third of the real cost of the formation). These amount equals 3 770€ for a Master or PhD.

However, Université de Bourgogne Frenche Comté decided to authorize each year a certain number of non EU students registrating in a UBFC course to benefit from France’s low tuition fees.

For year 2019-2020, reduced fees were 243€.

You will pay your tuition fees in France, on the day of your registration to the university. We advise you to pay them with cash, but you have to bring the exact amount.

Fellowship grants (up to 800 € per month, during up to 10 months) are awarded each year to high level foreign students, by the University of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (25 grants in 2018). Students can also have access to a wide range of funding programs (Grants from French embassies, AUF bursaries, etc.).

If you need more information about grants, you can visit the Campusbourses website to see what you can benefit from : http://campusbourses.campusfrance.org/fria/bourse/#/catalog

There are accommodation for students in the campus. Their price go from 158 € per month for a room in a residence, to 350 € for a little studio.

On average, French students spend nearly 600 euros per month. This figure may vary depending on your situation, but you will find below a provisional budget, given as an indication. To these essential expenses can be added other expenses: tuition fees to your course, purchase of books and school equipment, clothing, medical expenses, maintenance, leisure, etc…

Foreign students (outside of EU) will have to justify a minimum of financial resources to obtain their VISA : at least 615€ for every months spent in France (10 months).
